First, you have to secure the following documentary requirements before going to your local police station:

- Two pieces of 2×2 ID picture; Note: There are some police stations which no longer require for an ID picture because they are the ones who will take a picture of you at their office, make some minor editing in their computer, attach it right away to the certificate, and then print. So make sure you look good and presentable when you go there because you might have no time anymore to make a retouch.
- Community tax certificate (sedula);
- Barangay clearance.
- Approach the Duty Desk Officer in your local police station. Ask for an application form and fill out the required information;
- Once done in No.1, submit the application together with the other documentary requirements to the Desk Officer for verification. Your application will also be reocorded in their logbook;
- Once your documents are verified, you will be advised to proceed to your LGU Treasurer's Office to pay the Police Clearance Fee. Don't forget to ask for the official receipt;
- Go back to the police station and present the OR of your payment to the Clearance Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO);
- The officer will then make some final verification of your documents. He will prepare your clearance, print and sign. He will also ask you to affix your signature and place your thumb mark on the space provided.
- Claim your clearance. Please take note that it has a validity period. Once it is already due, you will request another clearance.
